What type of music is Song Street Records looking for?
All styles and genre’s as long as it’s very high quality, commercially viable and similar to what you would hear on the radio.
How will I know if my song is accepted?
If your song is accepted into our catalog, you will be contacted at the email or address you have listed in your account. Please make sure this information is correct and up-to-date.
What happens if my songs get accepted?
You will be contacted by us and will be required to provide a signed license agreement before your song can be placed. You may also be required to provide a high quality version of the song(s) selected on an audio CD.
What happens if my songs do not get accepted?
Keep trying! Just because your song isn’t selected for our catalog doesn’t mean it isn’t good. We will only contact you if your song is accepted into our catalog.
How long does it take you to decide if my song is accepted or not?
All songs will be listened to within 30 days of submission. At that time it will be decided whether or not the song is right for our catalog. If your song is selected, you will be contacted by us.
Can I contact you to see if my song has been accepted?
We’re so busy listening to submissions, we don’t have time to answer the phone! If your song is accepted into our catalog, you will by contacted by us. We will only contact you if your song is accepted.
What can the clients of Song Street Records do with my music?
Our clients will synch your music to their productions, such as TV Shows, TV commercials, Films and Film Trailers, Video Games and websites to create moods and sell shows and products.
Do I get to approve how and where my songs get used?
No. You are allowing us to pitch your music to all clients but we will use our good judgement in deciding what kinds of projects that entails. We do not license music for pornography.
Do I lose my rights to license my music elsewhere?
During the term of your agreement, Song Street Records will be the exclusive representative of your music in the market. If you find someone who wishes to license your song, please contact us.
What rights am I giving Song Street Records for my songs?
You are giving the exclusive right for us to market, pitch, and license your music to our clients.
Where will my music be marketed online?
Our online marketing tool can be found at SongStreetRecords.com.
What format must my songs be in for submission?
Please submit all songs in MP3 format with a bit rate of no less than 128kbps and a max file size of 8mb.
What if my song has more than one composer?
On the song submission form, you can submit up to 4 composers. If there are more composers on your song, please make note of them in the Notes section of the submission form.
How many songs can I submit?
Please limit your submissions to 5 songs per week.
Is there a fee to submit my music?
No.
Can I submit my music to other companies for representation?
No. During the term of our agreement, we will be your exclusive representative in the market.
I’m not a member of any performing rights organizations (P.R.O.). Can I still submit my songs?
No, We prefer that you are a registered member of the performing rights organization of your choice. Please research and join one of the P.R.O.s below:
How long does my license agreement last?
Our standard agreement is for a 3-year term. You may end the agreement after that point with a written notice sent 60-days prior to end of term.
Do I receive performance royalties?
Yes, if you are the composer/ writer then you will receive performance royalties directly from your P.R.O. or from us if they are paid directly to us by the client.
What will I be paid?
You will receive 50% of all net receipts received by us for our placement of your music.
How often will I be paid?
Payment periods are quarterly. You will be paid after we receive payment from the clients.
